Our confidence-building camps offer 7 days of love, deep conversations, judgement-free friendships, and adventure in extraordinary places.
There is woohooing. There is crying. There is laughing. There is love. There are lots and lots of high fives.
It’s hard to grow up in a mixed up world. Impossible sometimes. We take teenagers from all over North America out of their everyday lives and into a remote alpine location in the Canadian Pacific Northwest to work through some of the tough stuff together.
Camp is a safe, judgment-free, hella encouraging environment that enables participants to open up, release the heaviness, crawl out of the dark, and see and feel clearly how capable, incredible, and powerful they are.
After one week, they leave feeling strong, empowered, and free. It’s a remarkable transformation.
We slay the struggle together through:
Travel
To and from Vancouver to camp.
Food
All your meals, snacks, drinks, sustenance is included and it's delicious.
Lodging
At an incredible alpine lodge in the Kootenays.
Leaders/Mentors
The coolest, bravest, most inspiring, totally relateable, super humble, mega strong humans you ever did meet.
Fun
An impossible amount of joy—all for you.
We cover the costs by selling Girl In The Wild merch, collaborating with sponsors, and accepting donations.

Because we believe that confidence is a right for ALL humans. And we're not fans of barriers. Money is a barrier. So it's free. And that's that.
A lot of great things. We do some really fun and wild and challenging physical things like traversing boulder fields, trekking over mountain passes and into beautiful valleys to some remote alpine lakes that we can swim in (and make mud masks from!) We also have really vulnerable conversations about really hard things like negative self talk, body image, mental health, comparison, judgement, and all the stuff we're struggling with. We have uplifting conversations about our strengths, dreams, and possibility. We do yoga outdoors at sunrise every morning. We meditate under the stars at night. We dance. We nourish with plant-based food. We cook together. We laugh and cry and succeed and fail together. We hug. We push our limits. Basically, we do things we thought we couldn't do and we talk about stuff that's been hard to talk about in a safe and non-judgemental place and we share stories and experiences and choose to rise together. Every camp is a little different because the youth who come each year make it what it is.
Awesome! You’re going to extra-love this experience. We feel honoured to be the ones to guide you through it. If you are able to put one foot in front of the other and do not suffer from an illness, injury, or disability that would make moving through the mountains impossible, our program is for you. And you can ABSOLUTELY hike. We are confident.
Absolutely, you can. However it's important to note that, right now, our program is only free from pick-up and drop-off in Vancouver, BC. This means that if you’re coming from out of province or out of country, you will be responsible for your own travel costs to get to Vancouver, BC. (we’re working really hard to subsidize this and to expand camp to other locations so this isn’t a barrier in the future. Stay tuned on that!).
Please don’t let your story of “I’m not fit enough” stop you from applying. We promise you: You are capable. Youth (and leaders) of all fitness levels, experiences, shapes, and sizes come to camp every year. You are perfect as you are. And you CAN DO THIS!
No. The only people who will see your application are the humans on our selection committee.
To apply for camp, no.
To come to camp, yes.
If you are selected to come to camp, your parent(s)/guardian(s) will have to consent.
No problem. We’ve got you. We’ve literally filled a room in our Executive Director’s house with gear and apparel to lend to every person who doesn’t have what they need for camp. You just tell us what you’re missing and we’ll hook you up. You will not have to buy gear.
